YOGA

I have weight trained for a couple of years now and although my strength has improved my flexibility has not. As important it is to hit the gym and to lift weights, it is also really important to stretch out those sore, tightened muscles (something I neglect to do on a regular basis).

I have started doing a 30 minute stretching/yoga class in my bedroom every day with the hope of loosening up my muscles, gaining flexibility whilst also creating a longer leaner body. Right now touching my toes is difficult however positivity is key and soon I will have my legs behind my head… Maybe not, but you get the point.

Yogis I am coming for you.

This is terrible! But hey we all have to start somewhere ;)

CRUFFIN

Have you ever been craving the soft, buttery texture of a croissant but wanted that sweet, flavoursome goodness of a muffin? Look no further as a genius bakery in San Fransisco has created the Cruffin. Move over cronut, 2015 will be the year of Cruffins.

Cruffins are yet another hybrid treat to grace our presence and can I say what a genius invention. Ever since I came across Cruffins (43 minutes ago to be precise) I have now scoured the internet in search of a patisserie near me that makes them. Who honestly could resist the combination of both muffin and croissant? Not this foodie!

Originally they were the invention of a baker in MrHolmes Bakehouse in San Francisco, adding to their already gorgeous array of pastry treats. Since their menu changes daily I cannot tell you the various flavour creations they have made but I will go by a quote from one of their customers which said we should ‘run, don’t walk to this place, it is beyond amazing’. The same customer also made mention of a coconut rum raisin cruffin. GET IN MY MOUTH. Needless to say multiple foodgasms are occurring.

Sydney Patisseries I am coming for you. I need to get my hands on one of these sugar coated, fluffy pastry cruffins and I mean asap.

Kitchen by Mike

I love going to new places and checking out the local cafĂ© scene. Last weekend was no different as I went out for Sunday morning brunch to Kitchen by Mike.

Let me begin by saying that the interior of Kitchen by Mike was what impressed me the most.  I love the old warehouse, rustic feel with a slight modern twist. The walls were a white washed brick decorated with pot plants and modern hanging lights. The benches and shelves were decorated with mason jars with various succulents and other plants. Water was served in old glass milk bottles, the cutlery jar was wrapped in vintage paper and even the menus were tea stained to give off an old, well worn vibe.

Kitchen by Mike aims ‘to strip down traditional restaurant dining’ which is demonstrated through their canteen style ordering system. Remove the reservations and the waiters, Kitchen by Mike is about watching the food being prepared, cooked and presented, letting your eyes also play a key part in what you choose to eat.

Not even joking, this is the bathroom. I was in bathroom heaven!! Interior porn to the max.

Another amazing aspect to Kitchen by Mike is the adjoining open planned store Koskela. Koskela and Kitchen by Mike share the same warehouse space, so even if you weren’t hungry I would definitely recommend hitting up Koskela for some cool, innovate design ideas. If only I was wealthier my house would be a mirror copy of Koskela. Sigh.

Gypsy Spell

She dances to the songs in her head,
Speaks with the rhythm of her heart,
And loves from the depths of her soul.
